James Waterhouse

My name is James Waterhouse and I’m a freelance broadcast journalistin my final term at the London College of Communication. I am reporting on stories ranging from local planning issues, premiership football matches through to the Muslim dating scene! At this stage of my career the focus is very much on local stories that could directly affect YOU.After graduating from the University of Sheffield with a Psychology degree,  I embarked on a rugby career with the absolute belief that I would represent my country- for various reasons this did not materialise. However, the net result was that I enjoyed five years at championship level and played all over this fair country and built up an amazing network of friends and catalogue of experiences!

Numerous friends and contacts endorsed the value of the LCC course as a spring board into the world of Broadcast Journalism. So I thought that it was about time I built on my degree at the tender age of twenty five. I am now close to graduating and I realise the importance of making stories about the happenings around us as accessible and interesting as possible! Needless to say, they are brought to life through my expert interviewing and presentation skills.

Please pause and browse my site to check out what I’ve been covering, and send me feedback on what you think of the story itself and ideas for following up.

I’m adaptable and not biased towards any particular category of local story, if it’s interesting and in the public interest, it’s worth doing!

I upload content soon after reporting so please make sure that you don’t miss anything as it happens!

I love digital media and the opportunities the internet has created for telling a story. You can find more James Waterhouse on Twitter, Soundcloud, YouTube and Google+.

Happy reading/watching/listening!
